horse trailer scams

I'm sure this has been covered on this forum, but I'm still laughing as some of the replies I get from advertisements of trailers for sale.

The phone number for this one, advertised on equine.com, was for a pizza parlor. When I replied noting that, it went over their head like a lead balloon.

Hi,
The horse trailer is still for sale. It has a clear title, very well maintained, no damages, no rust or dents and no mechanical problems. I'm asking $9200 for it, non negotiable. I have to sell this horse trailer as fast as I can because I'm currently working at sea in the United Kingdom and i'll be away for 6 months in a row with only one month vacation and then back to work for 6 months again so I won't be able to use it anymore. I can ship for free within the US if you want to buy it. Let me know what you decide. The pics speak for themselves, You'll love the trailer, I can guarantee you that!

Specs: This trailer is the perfect trailer we have enjoyed it and I am sure you would too. It has a 20 foot awning, onan generator, We just put all new tires on it that we have maybe gone 600 miles on it pulls very nice,it has mangers a stud door. It has all the upgrades you could get at the time fancy light fixtures and door nobs.It has a drop down flat screen that swivels and you can watch it from the bed or the couch/hide a bed. The back has rino lineing half way up the walls. This is like new We love it and have taken very good care of it. Its ready to go for many more years It has hydraulic jack rear lighting lights inside and out of the horse area it has a rear tack with a saddle rack.much much more.

Two others responded with similar story lines. They must think people are complete morons. I reported it and equine.com removed the ad.

Some of those type ads will ask you to send a down payment via Western Union or something...... never do that!!!!..... Use Paypal, at least you have some protection....

Hello there, I have attached a few pics. The total price including delivery to your home is $ 3,200.00 The horse trailer is still for sale and is in excellent condition as you can see from the pictures, looks brand new, no dents, dings, scrapes or scuffs very nice horse trailer, tires look new, you will love this horse trailer... I sell the horse trailer at this price because I cannot enjoy it due to my job(I work as a casino dealer on a cruise ship) and I'm a single woman and I have nobody close who can use it. This horse trailer was used by my ex husband who died two years ago. All documents, including owner's manual, clear title and a bill of sale on your name will be provided along with the horse trailer. Also about payment and shipping I will use only Google Checkout so we can both be protected. I am looking forward to hear from you. So, please reply back with your full name and shipping address if you are really interested in purchasing the horse trailer so we can start the arrangements! Thank you, Patricia

Horseclicks.com is a breeding ground for scammers with trailers...LOL.

^^^why I NEVER shop online for a trailer. If im going to get used, then they better let me go look at it myself. And if im buying new then bonus because its at the actual dealers haha.

My papa actually told us a story of one guy that went onto his property and got caught by him taking pictures of his 2 really nice trailers. Then we went online to sites like that and found the pictures of the guy trying to sell them o_O. He bought a hitch lock that day lol
