I've never owned one, but I've been looking at them.
Since I'm used to the straight load, side by side, old-fashioned type with the divider that goes right down to the floor, I'm stumped by the slam gates on the angle hauls. They don't go down to the floor and to me, it looks very airy under there. Please educate me on a couple of points.
What stops one horse from scrambling and raking a hoof down the legs of the horse beside him?
If a horse goes down, doesn't that slam gate allow his legs to be all over the place, giving the horse beside him the potential to step all over him?
The ones with the tack room at the back seem to leave a pretty narrow doorway for the horses to get on. Has anyone had a problem with them? I realise it's probably the same width you'd get with the straight load, side by side, but it looks dark and narrow.
Thanks for any answers!
