Sanding/repainting a trailer
I'd like to repaint my trailer, but to do this, I need to get the old paint off first.
The trailer has only surface rust, none of it has broken through and there are not holes.
Now, I've always been told that I need to sandblast the paint off. I've gotten some quotes and it's EXPENSIVE. I can rent the equipment, and I can probably find a place to do it, but I've never used a sandblaster so I'd be concerned about accidentally damaging the trailer.
I was thinking, could I use some sort of sander, like a belt sander or a rotary sander and get the old paint off? I understand that it would probably take a lot more time and I'm sure I'd go through a lot of pads, but I'm trying to stick with my level of ability.
