So I am officially looking for my first trailer. My budget is low ($1,000) but we have the ability to fix just about anything, along with a shop with all the tools needed, including welding. I would ideally like a 3 horse slant with front tack room, bumper pull. We only have an f150. But I realize with my low budget that might not happen and I would settle for a 2h. I really prefer a slant to a straight load. Stock is fine with me if it has front tack. Also while I have a little arab my friend has a 16.3hh saddlebred so he needs to fit too :)
But when it comes to the brands and all that fun stuff I am not really sure what to look for. I am in no hurry to buy so I have time to look around for what I want and need. The lighter the better for towing purposes but past that not sure. The bf is able to inspect and fix and knows about this whole towing thing but he has never delt with horse trailers just flat beds and utility. So what should I look for? What brands to look for and also not look for?
