Pretty much every horse that I have trailered loose has turned around and traveled backwards on a slight angle, a few straight and backwards. The only horse that traveled forwards did so on a 45. I knew one horse who would lay down if you put him in a straight load, happy in a slant.
Have you had a welder fabricator look at your trailer to see if they can remount the deviders to a reverse?
