Okay, because my two year old is a brat, I am trying to get her out of it, she is just deciding not to listen when I am almost done with her. She will try biting, bolting, threatening to kick me and attempting to rear, I slap her everytime and stop her from rearing and kicking
Jazz is now 3 1/2 and still very young. For me, I'm just really aware of how long I'm working/schooling her, or how long I've asked her to stand quietly, so I'm not pushing too hard... Just enough that we Have met our goal for that particular moment or day.
The only thing I really feel strong about with young horses is that "slow and steady" will pay off. If I try and rush or I overwork or I damage the trust between her & I, I will eventually end up having to go back to square one and fill in the gaps. I'm too lazy for that! I rather take my time and keep plugging along in the right direction.
