    Accupunture, What Are Your Experiences?

Have any of you had accupunture done on your horses? My horse is in training and then recommended it for some pain and fear issues.

What are people's opinions on this?

Have never used it for fear issues????? That sounds a bit strange to me.

I do use it on a regular basis for helping with muscles and necks in halter horses and swear by it but I think that you are maybe being misled if they are telling you that it can stop your horse from haveing a fear.......

They didn't say that they could stop my horse from having fear, but if it helps with the pain it may help him be less fearful of other things he may have associated with the pain.

I'm really curious in it, but I've never tired it on any of the horses I've worked with.

I've had acupuncture done on my horse and he LOVED it! He went to sleep and went to his 'happy place.' I'm a total believer in it.

It won't help a horse become less fearful, but it can help with pain. And if the horse is reacting fearfully or spookish because of pain, then it may diminish. But if the horse is fearful of an object, different environment, etc. then it will not cause the horse to be more brave.
