You and Duke are troopers, I know you wouldn't be there if you didn't have to be. Do you have a post telling more about Duke? When I read your first post on this topic I realized I really missed the other one.

    Keep up the good work!
No, I don't think I have a post about Duke, so I'll just put his info here

He's a 12 year old Registered QH. His registered name is Ergot's Duke or something. He has Impressive in his lines somewhere. He doesn't belong to me, but I'm borrowing him to show in my 4-H show this Sunday. He's 16 something hands and is big and lazy. I've only seen him get scared once because the scary hiding goat made a noise

I've been working with him for about 3 weeks, and he's gotten tons better.

Hmm, random side note: I'm dehydrated because of today and I'm starting to love horses less... I really feel like just sleeping all day tomorrow...

He does sound like an ol timer cowboy type - my gramps was one. There were many times they had to tie a horse up and lay them down for one reason or another.

There's a difference in doing it so no one is getting hurt though.

With what you have written, why would you even consider having your horse around the guy?!! Sounds like a bad thing.

And you can make your own creek!!

Dig a small ditch and flood it with a hose. Voila! Instant creek. It's what we use where I board for trail practice.
Duke isn't mine. And he isn't supposed to be working with Duke. He broke him 10 years ago, but right now he's MY project. That didn't stop him from riding him though

Lol, I should make my own creek! I can't even use his because he won't let me in his pasture!! Which was the entire reason I wanted to move Duke! GRR! So I rode him through a flooded stall run....

Are you riding him for someone else? Sounds like you just need to give this guy clarification on who is supposed to be working with Duke. I'd move him further away from that guy instead of closer!

I was sooo thinking about it, but he rode Duke while I was at the Courthouse buying him the plates for his trailer!!!! Next time I'm unsaddling him before we go to the arena so he can't do that anymore! Also, the top of my saddle is like 4 inches from the ceiling in the trailer and I will be sooo mad if my new saddle gets broken!

I think I'm going to stay away from there for awhile, even though I really wanted to own my own horse and keep it there. I guess owning a horse will just have to wait...
