Remember Vida--I said you were impulsive, not stupid! You gave something a try and had an interesting ride--sounds fine to me. You actually took your headstall with you, right? That was smart in my book. You also didn't panic and got the horse stopped--good job, I'd say.
Thanks Arrow, I feel better and yes I did take my bit and headstall with me. I knew I would be able to stop her or she would get tired and stop herself sooner or later. I've never known a horse to run more than a 1/4 mile before slowing down on their own.
My logic trail actually leads back to those rope halter/bridle things that have the rings on the sides. I was going to get one on Ebay. I thought before I spend the money, I need to see how she goes.
Guess I'll keep my money in my pocket.
On hindsight I wonder if she was getting a sore nose. I've never used a bosal, cavison or nose band on her as part of her bridle. Poor baby, I feel sorry for her too.
