appaloosa

i really want this appaloosa on lease for a few weeks at its current yard near me. But its 5 years old and being backed now(!)
Apparently he's really well behaved and forward etc, but would he be ok even though he's 5? My friend has a horse whos just turned 3. And she's 12 - same az me. Good idea to loan him for a month just too see his behaviour? X

Personally, I don't think it's safe to ride unbroke horse of any age (talking from own experience here). Especially for kid. Certainly you can loan him to do some ground work, pet, brush etc. etc., but I'd recommend you starting him with real trainer.

Have you seen other people ride him? How well do they do with him?
