Bad training whinge

This is what the title states, just a whinge of bad training that you have seen.
Today I was out at the agistment centre where my horse is kept. I was practicing in the arena just basic dressage. Another owner was in the round yard with her new TB, attempting to lunge her. I just got annoyed at how she was lunging with no clear signals when asking transitions, shouting at the horse and whipping the ground with the lunge whip. I have always been taught that the whip is for prompting forward movement not for actual whipping. The horse wasn't abused but just a bit confused so was I. I can't suggest anything to the owner as she doesn't take any suggestions from 'beginner riders'. Rant over!

Maybe if she could see someone calmly lunging a horse, even a green horse, she might try to tone down her actions.

On the other hand, she probably has seen it done well...
Foxtail Ranch and DimSum like this.

There is a reason people say "you can't fix stupid";). Just ignore it unless it becomes unsafe for you or your horse.
