    Bored in the round pen

In the winter the only place I can really ride is in an indoor round pen. I am getting bored just riding around a small area. I have started my off track gelding jumping small raised rails, but cannot think of much more to do. He does not seem to have any interest in a jollyball and I am not very creative. What type of things can I do on the ground to build my relationship with my horse and build his skill set. Please explain any suggestions in detail so I can give them a try.

You could work on bomb proofing him. Dessensitizing to tarps, bridges, balloons, streamers, stuffed animals, you name it. Could all be done in a round pen.
    YOu could ground drive him.
You could teach him to bow.

I cannot tell the details of these, other folks can fill in.
