I'm going to try her in the sand ring tomorrow, if it's nice out.

It is much more difficult for them to canter in any other shape than a circle when they are first getting the canter/relearning it.
Next time you ride you may try trotting a circle (smallish) and then as someone else said sit up straight and ask by putting your outside leg back. If she speeds up her trot slow her down and repeat until she gets it. When she gets it praise her lots and lots.
Maybe you should get someone out to check her back etc as that can cause problems with cantering. Just a thought.

She'll canter as soon as I ask, but she trips with her back legs.

A changeable gullet system is no guarantee of perfect fit, and horses most certainly can change shape as they grow/fill out/gain or lose weight/gain or lose musculature.

From everything you've posted here, your mare has a pain issue that needs to be addressed before you get on her again. It may be the saddle, or it may be something else, but you need to get that figured out before you ask anything more of her.

    Hey everyone!
I rode Alibi today, and instead of leaning forward, I sat up straight and she had no problem cantering at all!
I guess I was throwing off her balance.
