    Breaking in Pippa...

Ok so Pippa is the first horse I've ever broke in for someone other than myself, so I thought I'd start a progress journal. They just brought her today. She's a 2 year old TWH/QH. She's got such a great personality. She's never been rode, though she has had some ground work done. So, to start it off, here's some pics of her!

And I know these aren't the best pics of her, ill get some better ones tomorrow.

    Day 1 with Pippa...
She lunged and saddled like a pro! I wasn't planning on saddling her today, but she did so well I wanted to see how far along she was, and apparently she's been saddled before which makes my job so much easier. So, here's pics of today's progress.

Make sure you drive her with long reins around the place too when she gets to that stage before riding her. Too many people skip driving with long reins and then get bucked off!!!

Ah good:) I've known a few people who rush too fast into this, but you seem to know about breaking young ponies:)! Is Pippa your first to break?

No, I've broken in horses to ride before, she jut the first one I've broke for someone other than family. They had her at a different trainer and he took 6 weeks and just did ground work with her. And in the meantime starved her down to nothing. :( she's got such a great personality, she is by far the gentlest and sweetest horse I've ever broke.

Aw:(. I hate when people do that, I think it's better to have a chubby pony than a bag of bones, definitely! She sounds like a lovely little mare:) Well, most of them do until you sit up on them!! XD Haha messing;)

Well Pippa had her first ground driving lesson today. She did fairly well but we are going to do a few more days of that before the next step. I forgot to get pictures of her, but ill try to remember tomorrow.

She's just going to be a trail horse :) her owners aren't big into any kind of event.

I'm sorry! I didn't get pics of her ground driving today! But I think she's already been ground driven before. She is so light mouthed! I love it. Tomorrow ill be getting on her for the first time. I think she is more than ready. Apparently whoever did the ground work on her did an excellent job. Except for the part of starving her down of course. >:(
