I think I'm just gonna update Bubble's progress here c:
Today I caught her without too much issue. We did a lot of desensitizing, and she didn't run off like I expected. She flinched and got nervous, but that was alright. She settled down.
We also worked on flexing and giving to pressure, She actually really enjoyed giving laterally because I would scratch her head each time, and she loves being scratched! I can flex her vertically as well, and she is starting to yield her hindquarters as well.
I tried teaching her to lunge and we did a little bit, but I think that will be the hard part. She's still overreactive to the stick. She's fine when I desensitize her to it, but as soon as I ask her to do something she gets nervous. Just another thing to work on, and for another day, when she is more responsive. I have to remember she's barely halter broke, and not to jump the gun.
Pssh.I didn't pick up the wrong lead
It's called a counter canter...
...A very advanced maneuver.
