    Lightbulb bucking

I bought a 8 year old qh mare suppose to have been ready to ride but that's another story. The question is when I give her a little spur she wants to buck I've never encounterd this what can I do to stop this

She is not listening to your leg, then you give her spur, then she bucks. Could be a million, trillion things, you got any video so we can narrow it down a bit?

It's either caused by pain or her being a brat.

Rule out pain first. Have you checked saddle fit, teeth, feet, has she been chiropracted lately?

We could tell you how to fix it if she's bratty but it'll only make it worse if she's in pain...

If you are wearing spurs, it might be because of the spur itself, maybe try without the spurs... I once rode a horse that if you used spurs he would rear, but if you didn't wear them, he was the perfect horse and even young kids could ride him... if it isn't the spurs she is either in pain, or a brat, or even just testing you. There are a lot of possibilities.

I used to ride a mare thatd buck at the sound of the rowel spin alone-- if you actually had the guts to get on her and touch em to her sides-- you were in trouble! she had a big scar down her side-- either a bull horned her or it was a spur.. either way- she had been 'cowboyed' and wouldnt tollerate spurs..

Maybe your horse was abused with spurs? What does the horse do with out the spur?
