Can i make a hackmore?

Hey y'all I was wondering if there is any way to "make" a hackmore?I normally just ride my horse in a halter and my barrel rains. But I will be takeing my horse to a show that allows bitless bridles.Well it more of a fun show kinda thing any how I was wonder if I could some how make one and put it on my western bridle?? I don't know. I have never had a bitless bridle so I don't really know how they are put together. I know I don't "have" to ride in a bitless and I am sure they would not mind. But I have wanted to buy/make one forever and this just kinda motivated me to I can't really afford to buy one because I have the vet comeing out for shots soon and that will cost me a pretty penny sooooo if any one knows a way to make one I would really really be thankfull. And please no rude comments

You should be able to make an indian hackamore/bosal. They attach to a regular headstall and I bought one off ebay for my Arab that couldn't tolerate a bit. He worked quite well in it, and I found I had much more finesse and the ability to communicate much better than in just a halter.

Here's a "how to" guide: How to Make An Indian Hackamore Bosal BITLESS Bridle CD | eBay

Here's a pic:

The one I used was soft nylon all the way around, rather than having a hard noseband.

Yes I love those, the one I use had a firm rope noseband, the rope was kind of rough and rubbed my mare's nose, so I wrapped it in fleece :)

I had one that was a bit rough so I wrapped it in a very soft deerskin. Worked great and looked really "authentic."

I plaited one with a stiff rope for a core, pretty easy to do but the heel knot is a PITA... Mines still bare with just the foundation for the pineapple knot
