Candi working with the new trainer and her assistant

    Hey everyone.
Well without writing a novel I just want to say that the trainer I had working with Candi actually was not the right fit. The horse was not being worked in a forward enough fashion and was not Cantering under saddle. SO many frustrations were happening I was totally overwhelmed and questioning my own horse knowledge especially when it come to TB's breed for racing such as Candi.
I watched the horse take a serious backslide over a 2 month period when I went to work and stopped being the primary rider. The trainer became scared and totally held the horse back.
So that trainer is no longer working with Candi. It was the best thing for her.
She is now working with the H/J trainer at my barn and her assistant who you will see riding her.
SHe is seeming to love her new work routine and is in full training with them. She loves trot poles and being allowed to work in a forward fashion as well as some cantering! :)

Here are some pictures from today. I will take more tomorrow and post them here.
    Enjoy!

    A few more...
I moved her into the main barn because she seemed so facinated at watching all the indoor arena activity from the trainers grooming stall. So I figured I would move her into a stall with a run and see how it goes....She like the shavings

I see I forgot to mention some things but had started to do so.

Candi's vet has finally okayed her to do small cross rails!

And. As far as my knowledge with OTTB;s and TB's bred to run and then going to a new dicipline. Well I was right on the mark as far as what needed to be happening and was not.
I am just glad we are on the right track and moving forward! Haha....literally!
    It is about time.
I have brought this horse along from the dreggs and she continues to come around....

That barn looks so lovely and clean - and I love her stall plate! She's looks like she's doing really well! Good luck with the rest of her training.

    Thanks Carleen!
The barn is beautiful and the grounds are spectacular especially during the summer. Lots of green grass.
Can't wait to see her this morning! See how she likes her new house. She was in a paddock with a shed so this is way more plushy! :)

She looks so good! She's such a beautiful girl... and once again, I am jealous of your photography!

I love your stall plate too, that's so cool! It seems that she likes being where all the action is! Nice looking barn and facility too.

    Thanks bunches...
She was soooo funny today. She has a paddock conected to her stall that on occasion will get locked down due to wind-rain-snow storms. Last night it was wind. So this morning when I got there the staff let her out and she was so goofy. Jumping bucking playing and squealing with excitement
She went well for the trainer today. Even better than yesterday.
I am not feeling very well today- a bit of a cold, so I just watched and listened to the trainer. We tried a different bit today and she seemed to like it better so I will order one. I also ordered her a new hunt bridle at my local feed store.

The name plate is a magnet! It was given to me last year for Christmas by the owner of the facility.

Very nice place to board my horses at. I have a gelding out to pasture there! He is the head horse in the group and he loves his pasture buddies!

Aw, she looks so happy there. I am glad that you got the whole thing figured out and now, maybe she can start making some real progress under saddle.

Oh, yeah, and did I mention how much I love Candi? She is so beautiful.

    Thanks Smrobs and Mom2!!!!
She seems to be settling into a new routine with this trainer. THe things I like the most is this trainer has a ton of experience with tTB's bred for racing. She gets they have a different way of thinking and reacting. Actually not all TB's are this way but non the less she totally gets Candi.

Can't wait to hear how she was when I get to go out tomorrow!
