Cant seem too find the right bit...

My horse Graycie needs a bit that is soft on the mouth. Nothing to harsh. But I just can't seem too find the 'right' bit for my baby. Anyone know a good place or website too find some. Or does anyone have any idea what would be a good bit for her.

What bits have you tried? For the horses I like the French snaffle or the jointed rubber snaffle. What do you mean soft on the mouth, to what degree?

French, what you have posted is not a french link snaffle. I can't quite tell from the picture what it is, but it ain't a french link.

OP - it will depend on what your horse likes. Some horses prefer thinner or thicker bits and each will prefer some combination of bar and palate pressure. Most horses like a medium to think bit for their mouth size and prefer bar pressure to palate pressure. Your best bet to try would be a french link, an oval snaffle and a kk. They are all similar in that they are double jointed, but each has a different center piece.

I use a french link on both of mine, a four year old greenie and a 9 year old veteran, with great success.

You will always have trouble finding the "perfect" bit if you are looking for a substitute for an educated set of hands on the reins. A simple snaffle or a french link if you must will work fine for nearly every horse if it is used properly. Your horse can adapt and learn to take any bit if you are using good horsemanship.

The pic I posted is a loose ring french linked snaffle, otherwise known as a bean mouth loose ring snaffle. The pic is on a angle so doesnt show the joint well.

We had a horse that we used a hackamore on and she done great.
