Cisco's Training Progress!

This Sunday I went to our friends barn and she was having her horses trained by a really amazing women, we trailered our horses up there and now we are part of her training program! She works with each horse and rider one-on-one for 30min each Sunday. The thing I am working on with her is building a neck topline and getting him to bend at the poll more so he can better round himself at the trot and canter. While we were working she had me flex his head in both directions and we discovered he is stiff on his right side, (not in his movements) he just doesn't bend on his right side especially when I ask him to flex. She gave me some simple "homework" to do, flex his head in both directions and by the next time I see her have him do it perfectly on both sides without moving his feet, practice one-rein stops when I ask him to trot if he speeds up without me asking him I shut him down, and lastly getting him to bend at the poll I apply constant pressure on the reins until he tucks his nose then I release the pressure. I will post how our sessions go each sunday! Wish me luck!

That's the same way my trainer told me to get my horse to bend at the poll! Have fun with the training. I'm getting ready to do a month with my horse 1 on 1! Fun to learn new things, isn't it?!
