Default Could not belive what I saw on RFD

So last night I caught up on the training shows on RFD. Learned some good stuff. One episode I could not believe. It was Ron and Kiowa: Part 2 with Parrelli
They were helping this man that had a 5 yr old arab/paint X. The man had been kicked with both hind legs, gotten bit, and all that fun stuff so he went on the show to fix it.
Pat tells the man to make the horse sidestep on pressure. So this man is pushing the horse in the neck and and right in the flank with the lead rope miles long laying across his arm. The horse is snaking around the bite the man and trying to kick him. Of course the horse gets away and the guy gets a face full of butt. He is one luck bugger he didnt get kicked.
I just could not belive it. What happend to safty. Pat should have told him before he even tried the exercise to hold the lead rope and tip his head so he doesnt get kicked. I was incredulous!
Has anyone else seen that episode? Am I over reacting?

I have seen not only things that PP have done that I find unsafe but also his CULT members who do things I find unsafe. Go figure.

I'm not a PP follower, not in the least... but isn't this thread just going to turn into an arguement and get ugly and unfun for everyone...?

JMHO...

My problem with their methods is you get owners who don't believe in disciplining their horses. The owner of the horse I part loaned never told him off or her other horse off so she was dragged round by them, let them graze when she was leading them which is a big no no to me and just in general let them get away with things like nipping, he bit my mum hard enough to leave a bruise. Because she did Parelli she never disciplined and acted like her horses were well behaved animals which they were but not as good as they should have been.

I am not trying to bash Parrelli or anything. Ive seen the level one and other stuff. Usually they are pretty safe. I was just really surprised at the episode and was wondering if anyone else thought it was very unsafe.

If it's the one I watched a while back, PP was on his horse the whole time instructing from his horse. The guy acted like he was having a hard time understanding what PP wanted. I was getting irritated that he was suppost to be helping the man, get off your butt and show him at least once what you want.

I don't pay attention to anything on RFD-TV except Horse & Country these days. And the only reason I like that is because it focuses more on dressage, showjumping, and eventing. I really don't like watching Clinton Anderson, Julie Goodnight, or Parelli.
