I didn't see the episode, so I can't say anything about it, but I can tell you Parelli is all about safety. My favorite Parelli instructor, Carol Coppinger, has a saying: "See a butt, stamp it out." lol! I wish I could offer you more insight on the episode.

I saw that episode too!! I couldn't freakin believe it. I never watch that Parelli stuff, but the remote was way on the other side of the room...(heh heh heh).

Anyway, Pat seems to be the poster child for giving people just enough information to get into trouble. More than a few times, that horse was in a very good spot to do some serious damage to that guy. The guy wasn't using his own brain and getting himself out of harm's way. I'm assuming he was standing there because he was looking to Pat for guidance, but I watched that whole thing waiting for him to get kicked or bitten.

I'm assuming these Parelli folks make people sign a ton of liability releases because they sure are careless where their students are concerned.

Horse training on television is usually watered down and gives you just enough information to get you killed. You're not overreacting. Thank you for the case in point.

ahhh. That was probably a mistake on Parelli's part. But don't we all make mistakes? You can't deny the man and his students are brilliant with horses. At least, the ones that aren't posers. The entire point of parelli is to find a center-not to be the kind of person who only loves their horse and doesn't teach them manners, or to be the opposite kind of person and beat the crap outta their horses. But to find a center, and then to learn to read the horse very well so you know when to comfort and when to smack. Isn't that what good horsemanship is about?

Mistakes are edited out of TV shows.
