Crappy cell phone pics... But what do you think?

I was able to snap a few pics of my horse during a training session. Next time I'll bring my real camera, but I was hoping someone would be able to give a critique anyway.

Oz is 7 years old and my goal is to eventually do dressage with him. My trainer has been on him, but I need more lessons before I'm ready to ride him myself.

Just a fun pic of him:

I have no critique other than to say, when you do start riding him, keep that 3rd picture in your head of those lovely shoulders moving fluidly forward so you never restrict them by riding with heavy hands or locked elbows. He looks very nice and through in that picture. I love his markings.

It's difficult to give a good solid critique from these photo's - any chance you could get some video footage if you can't get clearer photos?

In the photo's of him on the lunge, he appears to move with an uphill tendency (great if you want to Dressage him), though seems to be a little straight through the knee (hence a video would be beneficial as it may just be the photos), which will improve as his shoulders open and he started getting stronger over his back.

He's possibly a little sickle hocked and straight through the stifle, but has a lovely sloping shoulder, his neck comes out very nicely with a good shaped gullet. I love a nice compact horse, you will find him quite easy to put together when you start bringing him into collection I suspect ;)

Thank you! I feel kinda proud because I saw that pic and thought, "wow, he looks like he's moving nicely in this picture!"

I'm planning on taking a lot of lessons, both now and after I start riding him. My trainer makes it look so easy but she's a phenomenal, quiet rider. I have a tendency to tense up and give mixed signals. I've been riding for 20 years but never learned how.. Lots of bad habits to fix!

Thanks for your input! If it warms up this week, I'll be going out to watch another session and will get pics/video. I'll bring my regular camera and the video camera.
