I am going to have to search for a trainer to break my little guy. I've got like a year to go, but I am already thinking about it. I would really prefer to trailer in for training sessions, but that might not be feasable. I am already stressed about it. I would go as often as I could to see my little guy. Most trainer around here like to do 60 days, but if the trainer is good 90 wouldnt hurt.

One of the trainers I am going to look into require the owners to come out at least once a week, and sometimes even participate. My biggest fear is that my little guy will go great for the trainer, but I'll need to do alot of work to get him to go well with me. So I really like sessions were you train your horse with the trainer supervising/ instructing you what to do.

    Hey everyone...
I just got in from the barn and I am soooo going to miss my girl!
But, today I also had more info given to me about the trainer. My shoer (I just switched to him), told me that this fellow is a good friend of his and he lives about 2 miles from him. He told me lots about his history and had nothing but good to tell me.
I know it is the best decision for her and for me.
This trainer does like for the owners to be involved.
A friend from my barn has her mare there at this time. She has gone up I think once a week to visit and see the progress. When her horse left she was not ready to be ridden. Approx two weeks ago she went up and got to ride her.
I saw a short video of this trainer riding and my friend.
My friends little mare has been under saddle before and my more has not been ridden since she was at the training track a long while ago.
One thing I am hoping to do is learn how to take the video clips from my cam corder and use the Pinacle software I have and successfully make a clip to post....lol I can be technically challenged sometimes.
With my college semester coming to and end next week and Candi leaving I will have only my gelding Ty to keep moving. So I hope to try and accomplish that video task.
I will be calling the trainer here this weekend since we are to get more snow. We will have to see what the weather looks like the day he plans to bring home my friends mare and pick mine up...
Oh- it is good to know my shoer lives close to Brian (the trainer) so if there is a need he can just go on over and do what he needs to. My shoer will actually be out tomorrow at my barn so he is going to check my mare before she heads out!
