Do any of you play with exercise/yoga/physio balls?

Hi, forum! I'm looking for ideas about what to do with Sam and the new Jolly Mega Ball I got. My trainer and a few others have suggested getting one because my darling boy is such a freakin' pest and loves to mess with everything he can get his big goofy nose on.

Aside from just kicking it around and playing "soccer," have any of you incorporated big bouncy balls into your training or exercise with your horses? My trainer mentioned target training, so I'll ask her, too, but if love to hear any ideas you all have :)

A couple years ago I was watching a battle of the breeds competition where the rider had to direct their horse alongside the ball and then direct it into a set of goalposts. My mare is terrified of the darn things. There is one sitting beside the entrance of our indoor and every time she sees it she spooks in place and goes her most Arab-y all flaring nostrils and pricked ears and head in the air. Should probably work on that ...

I don't really need to do much.. my horse will just play with it. Sometimes I'll chuck it at him and he runs around kicking it. He's tried to bite it a few times. I've even gotten him to kick it back to me twice.

My horse never was interested in exercise balls. I figured he of all horses would be the first to jump on the soccer train. I was a tad disappointed about that... ;)

I guess I did some desensitizing with the ball by throwing it at him and bouncing it off him from all sides. To my complete surprise he just stood there with a content lazy look on his face? Rolled it all around him with no reaction. Strange for him.
