Does this sound like a good plan?

I'm overthinking everything today so bear with me. I have an OTTB mare coming home tonight. Her last race was in September and she's been lunged a bit since but mostly just resting. My plan is to leave her to rest over the winter and start her under saddle in the spring, by which point she'll be 5 years old. I plan on just doing basic groundwork with her over winter and that's it. She's not my first OTTB but it has been a few years since I've had one. Resting her will also still give me time to work with Carolina's issues.
