Double excited!! Horse starting training, and so am I.

Hey all...
Well it has been a road and 1/2 to get to this place! I am so excited!!
My horse and I are going to have a lesson!!! I will work with one of the trainers at my barn to help me get my horse started again since he has not been ridden in a long time.
We will have a ground work lesson on Friday!
I fitted him with his new stuff today. I put the surcingle on him with a dressage pad under it...
Then I put his new bridle on and adjusted that, but we need to adjust it a bit more and maybe add some holes...
I swear he became a diffent horse when I let him move around in the round pen with the surcingle
He was bucking and was cute...
My horse and both have been through a lot and to finally be able to work with a trainer will be great. I also will have my first lesson on Thurs with at a differnt place. I posted about that in anther area...
Can't wait to tell you all about it..

Hey everyone.
The lesson was great. My horse did really well and the instructor even complimented him.
We are going to be working on developing his top-line and getting him accustomed to halting and trotting with his head stretched downward.
In a few weeks I will hope to have made some progress and then take another lesson.
He looked so good trotting around with his head down! He only pitcvhed one small fit and tossed his head a few times and broke into a canter, but the instructor said despite that his canter looked nice.
But, we would like to build the muscles up along his neck and back.
I am not planning to ride him for a while. I would like to establish some things with him first and then when his muscle tone has improved and we both are ready we can look into getting on him.
In the mean time we both have homework to do!
