Endurance Training

Hello. I was wondering, for my first ever endurance ride, my starter if you like, is 25 miles too much? Where I take lessons, are having a sponsored endurance for to raise money for Dogs Trust, and there are 3 different rides. 1st April 2012 is a 10 mile ride. On the 3rd April 2012, is a 15 mile ride. Then on the 5th there is the 25 mile ride. My mare is reasonably fit, and enjoys the trails. The rides are all at a trot - canter speed. What is your opinion? My parents are recommending I try the 15 miles, but me being me, I want to try further.

Anyway, I have some endurance questions too ...

~ For my first ride, can I just use my normal tack?
~ Should I use a stronger bit? It's near a lake and my mare can be strong :p
~ Would a schedule of hacking and schooling every day in the morning before work, 7:30am and when I get out of work 4:30 pm until 8:30pm be good preperation training?

Thanks very much, I'm excited just by thinking of it :)
