english saddle western reins?

I have a very weak left wrist and holding the reins English is very hard for me. I was thinking of training my Rocky Mountain to neck rein, but ride with a lighter English Saddle. Any thoughts? I don't really plan on showing him, I just want to be able to trail ride mostly.

For trail riding, you can mix and match any tack you want to. If you do ever decide to show, you would have to have the appropriate tack but until then, you should use whatever is most comfortable and practical for you.

Green Broke
If you just want a lighter saddle you could go for a lightweight saddle, that would probably be even lighter than the english saddle as well.

My spare saddle is an Abetta cordura Western saddle- its like 15 lbs and its great. Its very secure and comfortable for horse and rider.
