I have a comming up 3yo gelding who sometimes I wonder if he was proud cut. I baught him as a yearling and did quite a bit of ground work with him. He lunged well as a yearling and was well halter broke. Only problem I had with him then was hehated fly spray and would kick and try to move while being sprayed and he was quite spooky which u shually happens before desensitization training. When he turned two I had him gelded but he was showing some stud like behavior. At two years of age I had difficulty with his lunging. He began to challange me, buck rear and try to pull me. He lead just fine and I started getting him used to a saddle andbridal. He was sent for 4months of western pleasure training. The previous owner told me his breeding (father) was the type who didn't like to feel like he's being pushed and to take that into consideration when training. My 2yo gelding did very well durring training and was quite a pleasure to rideI couldn't ask for a better horse. But his ground manners have gotten worse. He gets mad when I get burdock out of his mane, mad when he's wormed, mad when he's flysprayed and mad if he gets lunged. Hrs great if I do halter work he's like a big baby. What can I do to change his overall additude with me and ground work. Is it because he feels pushed although he maybe gets worked 1hour evry other day and I'm not the type to be pushy or mean. Does he have lack of respect for me? Or he just hates these things and all?
