hey just because hes 30 doesnt mean he cant be used to walk and trot around an arena or such we had a 25 yr old ottb at my grandads farm wen i was younger an i used to ride him bareback everywhere wen i was young
ive worked for tb trainers since i was 15/16 and one thing i recommend shorten your stirrups a few holes and practise practise practise you learn u have muscles you never thought you had lol and build up your arm muscles because many racers pull also you gotta have a good back and posture wen race riding otherwise like i found out youll develop back probs and be really sore :(
hang around experienced professionals at the track or otherwise and be a sponge ask questions and dont give up if you stick at it eventually youll get a break

yeah. that's what we are saying. he can be used lightly but we wouldn't push him any further. And believe it or not there is usually a huge difference between a 25 year old and a 30 year old... BUT some horses age more gracefully than others
