FERAL pony

This is more a rant than anything else feel free to add yours

Had one of those bumpy days with Ella today. She was FERAL!

I've Got about 40 rides on her if that.

Is been 2 weeks since I worked her, I know bad sarah! It's. It's not the first gap she's had and is normally beautifully quiet after.

Started lunging got greeted with prancing (pretty but not desired) rearing and bucking. So NOT on.

Decided I was not getting on. Horses in the paddock went running, she tried to join in.

Anything aside from walking / trotting got snorting prancing devil pony!

Gave up on riding and decided to do some ground work along the road. Just leading backing the basics.

The boogeyman was everywhere!!

FERAL PONY

Now have to try a second session with her after I work prin -sigh- I'm sleepy!

How rich is her diet? Perhaps cutting her back to just hay will get rid of her excess energy. Unless she is working hard-6 hrs day, grains are unnecessary. My vet advises only hay until the horse seems to need grain ie. Don't feed it until necessary.

She's on hay pellets and hygain balanced. Same feed for 3 years.

Was just a day hopefully I'm heading out to ride her after another cup of tea.

She used to be very Jekyll and Hyde there was nice Ella and bad Ella. Haven't seen bad Ella for a while

Turns out although she wasn't showing much yesterday her withers and shoulders were quite sore today. Apparently she was hooning Sunday I'm guessing she's slipped and pulled something.

Feeling kinda guilty now!

Had a really good session today though. Used the photonic torch on her then did some liberty work. Only the second time we've done it and got through a lot. 5 of parellis 7 games.
