We have been working on getting the fillies to cross our creek for the last week or two. Well, today Saro did it I came prepared with a rope halter, 14' lead rope and short whip. She had refused to cross while I'm on her back so figured I would try to drive her from the ground today. No need, she went down the bank with just a bit of hesitation, got to the water, JUMPED across the creek and lunged up the other side  I was not prepared at all.
I stayed on but I'm sure my inner thighs will be bruised from jamming into the pommel :-( We turned around and crossed it again....and again. Each time she was better. By the end she was stopping mid stream to take a drink
I'm so proud, she's so brave, she's such a good girl
Now on to Shiloh
No pics darn it. My husband took some with his cell phone but there is something wrong with the memory chip, I can't get them off the phone :-(
I'll take some next time. Tony said the leap she made was pretty to watch. Picked up both front feet and leaped
can my horse watch yours? he's still convinced that a river monster lurks in the depths every time we come to even the smallest brook. =) seriously though, thats great! what a brave little filly
Hey right on....good for you guys!
You can try e-mailing the picture from your phone to your e-mail....that might work.
All you have to do is put the e-mail address in the place where the phone number goes...
Try that and see how it works...
Yeah for water!
We went back yesterday, I figured she would just trudge right across....Nope  After several tries I finally got off and Tony ponied her across. I got back on and no way again. Again the pony leading. I got on a second time and she was fine. We crossed several more times and headed home.
I have started her with a bit (we had been going bitless) today around the pasture. When she gets used to the bit we will head back to the creek and be sure remember to take the camera. *hand to heart* I promise!
