Hey everyone.
Well I finally rode my horse! I have two pictures from my cell phone but I cannot seem to copy and paste them inot this post...technically challeneged person here.
I am not even sure I can get them into one of my albums.

He was such a good boy! He halted when asked and with a little work he did listen to my leg.

I do not own a saddle at this time so will have to think about that as my next big purchase after the winter blanket. Opps I forgot his measurements and need to get that done soon.

He really did impress me! I brought one of the mounting blocks into the round pen and had him stand there next to it for some time. When I saw the barn owners son was coming I went ahead and mounted. I wanted to make sure someone was nearby just in case.
I only rode for about 15-20 minutes walking in the round pen and changing direction. Walk halt walk halt.
:):wink::lol:

He was reall good and willing to try and listen. So I will ride every now and then after our lounge work. I can not afford to ride in a lesson everyday and since I have not ridden regularly for a while I really need to get my own legs used to being on a horse...

There is a woman I know that has a saddle for sale but I think it is really fancy and expensive. I would be fine with a not so fancy saddle. So I will see what else is around. I do know that the saddle she has that is not forsale fits my horse pretty good. We tried it on him the other day.

So the begining of another chapter...
Progress.

Glad you had a good ride! When I first got my horse I didnt have saddle so I rode him bareback for almost a month before I got a saddle! I tried over 10 saddles! If your not looking for anything too fancy I would highly recomend a wintec saddle. I have rode in it for hours at a time and not a sore muscle in my body! It is really easy to take care of and pretty easy on the budget as well. A couple of my friends who have wintecs LOVE theirs as well.

Thanks
Wintec is totally fine with me. Actually the saddle I had on him the other day is a Wintec Dressage saddle, but it is not the one the lady is selling.
I will be looking around and checking things out. I will get with one of the two trainers I have been working with and see what we come up with.

I managed to put the two little photos in my Training album but can not seem to figure out how to get them into the post without them being so tiny.

If youre not body clipping him in the winter I would forgo the winter blanket and let him grow his own. Horses are very hardy and do well in cold temps.
