Finally Someone offered to help me with my horses rearing problems!!!

Hey everyone.
Well I went to the ranch today to work with my horse...well more to spend time with him
Since his rearing outbursts and the most recent of the other day, when I had to let him go.... I decided to slow things down and even though he needs the hand walking for 20 minutes a day Per the vet, I still have to keep working on the respect stuff in some way...
First of all I gave him the day off on Tues, and had him turned out into a bigger enclosure for a few hours yeterday and I took a day off as well. While in the bigger enclosure he basically moved around a bit and then stayed in one place most of the day. At least this is the report I got.

Today when I went out there I ocused on just being with him...Brushing and talking and loving on him
I did take him into a round pen and was able to get him to walk only (yeah) This happened right away instead of running around which is what I don't want him doing.

So we did some manuvers with his hind quarters and some moving from left to right and backing up and halting...all basic stuff to keep him thinking and also focusing on me...I only did this for a sohrt time and then I let him stay in the pen and meander around on his own for about 45 minutes...I returned and asked him to walk around quietly for another 15 minutes and switched directions a few times
Afterwards I just loved on him a while and then took him to eat some green grass and water his legs.
While I was standing there one of the trainers I had asked for some help when I first got my horse to this new place, actually came up and asked how we were doing and asked if I would like a ground work lesson.
I gladly said yes!
I explained about the Ultrasound for tomorrow and then the horse shoes and hopefuly the vet will okay him to do light ground work activity.
He needs to retake the Respect on the ground -101 class....
Overagain...
Being that I still can not move as fast as I would like really love this because of the knee recuperation from my sugrery...it wil be a blessing to have someon help me...
Normally I would be fine to just keep working on it myself but I think having someone giving me specific instructions and then backing me up with whether I am doing things consistantly or not is great...

So I was so excited that the trainer who usually does all the higher end dressage training at this barn decided to ask if I would like some help...
I had asked her before, but she passed me to someone else who passed me to someone else...and so on.

So I was just about to reach out to an outside source when this other gal came and asked if I would like a bit of help..

I am hoping and praying that the ultra sound will go well and the info we need we will aquire tomorrow and that it will not be really bad news or something.

The vet will be able to give me some good direction as well and I am hoping the horse shoer will be able to get out as soon as he can.

I would love to have him barefoot but at this point I think it is necessary to have them on the fronts until I can restore his feet and learn to manage what issues he has...If he ever turns out to be a candidate for no shoes cool, but if not I will just have to work with what I got.

As far as my horse goes...He was much more settled today. I put the boots over his feet (boots to help protect the soles of his tender feet) and had him just walking and paying attention to me...
He seemed better and more focused today and I did not push...
I think and feel since he is so new to this area and the new paddock he is in...etc, that taking things slowly while he settles in is going to be the key...
I am grateful for all the advice and support I have gotten from the people here...
Thanks so much!
I will post tomorrow on how the ultrasound goes...It is supposed to be at 11:am but we all know that things can run late sometims...
Half Pass........
Oh PS...
I am the worst when it comes to typos and spelling ...am I missing the spell checker on this forum???
