| || | smrobs - PFFFFT, that's t-shirt weather! I'm not kidding, it's chilly in fall, but come spring the minute the temps get warmer then 5 F, we're riding in hoodies! The wind is the worst here to - quite frankly, -20 isn't all that cold, but add a 30km/h wind and you freeze in minutes. Most people think we're insane for riding all winter - we have an annual ritual of ringing in the New Year on horseback with a gallop through the field at midnight. The last two years have been gorgeous, but the first year we did it, it was colder then -50 with the windchill. I never thought we would warmup, I don't think I've ever been that cold in my life.
Right now we're in full fledged autumn and it's hovering right around 60F which is pure heaven for me - just crisp enough to wear a light sweater, but cold enough at night the mosquitoes are gone and the bugs in general are almost non-existent.
mfed58 - These were taken in Birds Hill Provincial Park, which is located just outside Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. We're right in the heart of the prairies, but most of it is marshland so it makes for some pretty interesting landscapes. The only thing we don't really have are hills, but you can drive about 2 hours west and find some really beautiful valleys to ride in!
