My boy likes to drag his feet when walking, which causes him to stumble and trip a lot. How can I teach him to pick up his feet so when I start riding him he's not falling all over the place? (He reminds me of a gangly uncoordinated teenager- he's 3)
I plan to try some polls but does anyone have any more suggestion? Posted via Mobile Device
The best thing you can do for horses that drag their feet is raised poles. Like make walking poles so that he can easily walk through them with one step in between which should be around 3.5 feet apart. This is great to do because it makes him drop his head, pick up his feet, and it makes them round there back and helps loosen the back. When is has walked comfortably over them at the walk make them trot poles and make him go through them at the trot. Hope this works for you!
