I am entering Breeze is a local horse show August 24th and I am beginning her training for it.
She will be entered in Halter Class and Showmanship.
What I am going to do to prepare her for it, is get her leading perfectly, stand square, and move her forequarters without moving foreward.
Is there anything else I should be training her for this? She is very good at leading, but I am going to work on it more because I don't know how she will react with a lot of horses around her!
Any help would be great! I know I still have 3 months, but I am not sure how long it will take her to learn all these things, and I am preparing another horse for the same show also (riding though, in barrels and western pleasure, maybe more events)
I am wanting to get a ribbon for her first show, but I am not expecting to get 1st place, or even second place. She will most likely be the youngest horse there in her classes. There won't be many people entering, probably no more then 10-15 people in each class (it is a small show)
So any advice on training her to get ready is appreciated!
