Getting Show Ready?
so my sister and I are trying to get two of our horses ready for some shows this summer. We're in the process of joining a drill/calvary team also.
But I was hoping for some tips and advice. We've never been to a show. We would both be in western events, probably trail, showmenship, halter, equitation, western riding. Maybe some novice barrels for one or both. (her paint memorized the pattern second time around!)
Any tips on teaching pivots, for my girl. She does HQ great in saddle and ground, and shoulder on the ground. But I can't seem to get her to pivot without her butt swinging around after she steps?
Side passing advice too would be great! And help with leads.
We're both so nervous, and any inside info on shows would be appriciated!
and some practice patterns would be awsome. Both are pretty desensitized, just would be antsy around a bunch of new horses!
Having horses means: There is always hay in your bra. And you're never quite certain on how it got there. You realize that you just clucked at the dog
