Give me some ideas! :)

So chance is still a little lame, but she's not as stiff as she was and and is reaching but bit more with her front then she was a few days ago. Also not as limpy when I trotted her to check.

SO, to keep the poor thing from dieing of boredum [shes been on rest for at least 3 weeks now] I was thinking maybe you guys could throw out some ideas for me that she could possibly to with out much strain on her legs. Im talking ground wise.

She knows how to bow, spanish walk, smile, push a ball, stand on a bunch of things lol so if you could think of any other tricks let me know. Lol she can lead from every part of her body [backwards by tail, back/front legs, and mane LOL!] She can side pass to and away from me... I've literally run out of ideas that I can do with her that doesnt consist of a lot of movement.

I was thinking about starting some ground driving with her. Along with starting to tack her up again so when I do start to get on her again it wont just be related to work.

Well anyways if you have any ideas let me know!

Wow! That's an impressive repertoire!

You might have already done this, but have you ever thought of just setting up an obstacle course? You could combine all of her "tricks" into one exercise routine and just keep varying it. Maybe set up some barrels, some really low cavaletti, etc etc. Just keep her thinking and on her toes. If you have trails around you could just hand walk her on them, which will keep you fit and give her something to look at besides the arena/stable. Pretty basic ideas, I know.

Another thing is maybe incorporating clicker training? I just recently saw it in action and it seemed like a pretty cool idea. A new training style infused with your current might give your horse the novelty she needs.

Hope she starts feeling better soon!

Actually I think ground driving is a great idea. If you haven't done it before, it's not as easy as it looks. If you do have some expertise in it, then try doing patterns like figure 8s.

Can you even sit on your horse? If you can, then do some postural exercises on her (your posture, not hers).

Or maybe vaulting. . . .

ETA, does she need despooking? Will she walk over a tarp? Under plastic? Dragging something behind her?
