Gunner was perfect!

Today I went out to see Gun, to do some work with him. When I went into the field to catch him, I showed him the lead rope, and he just started walking with me. He walked all the way from the back field to the barn shoulder to shoulder with me, no lead rope.

When I was shedding him out, he not only let me crawl under his legs, he also let me pick three small beans out of his urethra. He saddled perfectly, gave to light pressure with my thumb on the ground, and stood for mounting. I tried him in a full cheek snaffle, and he whoa'd and turned perfectly!

I am so proud of him! I was expecting today's training to be a lot of repetition and training, but he remembered everything! He such a good boy!

Naw, my Gunner. His name actually was Buckles...talk about a name for a little girls pony! I was just going to call him Buck or Buckshot, but we already have a Buck in the barn....

I just can't get over how great he was. I really found a good one.
