Wink Halter and Showmanship classes

OMG! I have an appy/QH colt due sometime after april 9th. The breeder is halter breaking her, teaching her to trailer, pick up her feet and stand for a body clip. So all the basics are down, but I've never trained a colt for a halter show, I've always had a trained horse. Im wanting to do it myself instead of having someone else take him and doing it. Does anyone have any tips on how to train him to set up and stand still in the show ring???

There are some excellent threads in the Horse Showmanship Forum: http://www.horseforum.com/horse-showmanship/

There is definitely a thread on squaring the horse up, and as far as standing still, I teach mine by just squaring them and standing still for longer and longer periods of time, moving them when they get close to the "Fidget Threshold."
