Hey all, Im Beth :)

I have a new baby that we are starting from scratch on. She was born on saturday, and we've had the halter on her a few times (no leading yet) She isnt however "in your pocket" as Ive seen alot of foals. Is this because she is still so new? Her full brother when we got him was always right there, wanting attention. We also got him (with mom) when he was 3 months old. Any ideas or suggestions? will she warm up to us as we play with her each day? Im assuming she will, Im just curious were doing things right! Thanks!!

I agree with close2prfct, your baby will be more friendly as she gets older and the more you play with her. Right now being a baby she just dont know and has to learn people are great to be around. Also right now with her being so little is a great time to rub her all over so she is used to it for the future. Good luck, and have fun they grow so darn quick!!

dont forget ... when she allows you to handle her feet, pick them up and tap on them ..we started this with the foal we had last year and she was more willing to let us handle her feet when trimming..just an idea to help desensitize!
