Red face He won't trot with me!!

LOL my pony is either lazy, stubborn, bored, or all of the above.
I've been working on ground skills, and no matter what, I can get him to trot along beside me. I've tried EVERYTHING. I swear, you could take a tractor, tie a chain from his halter to the tractor, and move the tractor and all he would do his walk about .1120854090 mph!!! I cue him and he just doesnt understand.
I don't know how to get him to hear my cues- I can't lunge him either because he just walks around behind me. Used to, if I tried to get him to trot with me, he would go so fast he would break into a gallop, rip the rope out of my hands, and run around the field like a demented loon, lol. Now i've desentised him to most everything and nothing startles him and he loses interest in what we are doing now.
Does anyone have any tips? So far the only thing that gets him to move his feet is the color orange (irrational fear) And he's moving the opposite direction instead of with me, lol.
Any tips? I really need to be able to teach him the gaits because i'm working on jumping him from the ground. THANKS! :)

Green Broke
Have a whip beside you and if he doesn't go ask nicely no go ask again more demanding.
But I find if I just start running Buzz will usually just follow to catch up

Yeah I need a whip lol. My friend has one she's going to give me. If I take off running, he makes absolutely no effort to catch up, and I reach the end of the rope and nearly fall on my face haha. Maybe if I had bread he would try to catch up but I can't carry bread everytime I take him out lol
