I rode my horse bareback for the second time last week, I hadn't really trusted him enough before because he always wants to go fast and is spooky.

It was great though, we were cantering circles and we did a small jump which was amazing, it felt so smooth! I only had to grab the mane once when he took off at something.

The only advice I can give really is relax, if you get tense you bounce! And the horse gets tense and it just doesn't work. I was cantering without stirrups once and he went back to trot and I tensed up and just bounced off (he's got a bouncy trot!).

So good luck! And try not to do too much too soon!

Yeah, I'm really good @ bareback.
It's pretty easy, really. ;)
Just sit deep & relax.
I think everyone else pretty much covered it. :)
Good luck!!
Bareback is also good practice for your legs & balance! ;)
