Do you want it trained for one races or several? Is it soley a charity event that anybody can enter a horse in?

When you say races, is sounds like you want it to run several times, which is why I'm asking for clarification. I'm going to say things here that will sound silly, and your probably going to say "duh, I know" but your post just wasn't entirely clear. If you want it to run in proper races, on a proper racecourse you need a trainers licence. The horse also must be named and registered. Not just anybody can train a horse, and training for sprinting is a completely different ballgame than training for distance. You don't say when the race is or the horse's current fitness level, but (obviously) you won't have a completely out of shape horse ready in the space of a few weeks.

A regular riding horse and a racehorse are two completely different spheres. Your horse needs to be trained properly and get used to running up sides with another horse. It needs to breeze daily and have a few proper pieces of work a week. IMO your no going to learn how to train on the internet, you need to be out with a proper trainer and see how things are done. All horses need their own training schedule, and the internet is not going to give you the correct information for your own horse.
