I've had my horse for like 6 months now, and everytime i ride him he likes to pay attention on what's around him and tries to get as fast as he can before I can correct him. He doesn't like alot of contact so I have to keep him on a loose rein most times. I have a dressage instructor that helps me a bit. I just have bad rides like 75% of the time I ride him. We're like best friends on the ground but in the saddle he just doesn't wanna relax. Doing circles, he will fall on his shoulder and try to canter, going over jumps/poles/calveletties he will instally go into the canter, he will lunge forwards over taller jumps to get over them. When walking in the arena he will just look around and throw his head up and walk very fast, when I ask for the trot before he would act as if I kicked him, now lately he's starting to swish his tall and pin his ears and throw his head to the girth. When I ask for the canter he doesn't care about his leads he tries to get in the canter as fast as he can. Even when asking for a inside bend he falls on his shoulder, does a small cirlce, and tries to canter. I sometimes just get so aggravated, i probably look some beginner rider riding a racehorse out there, I have ridden other horses before even high strong ones but not as bad as my horse. He just associates the ring as a racetrack. I always leave the barn upset most of the time because he's like that everytime. I just had a vet look at his teeth he's not due until fall, I had a saddle fitted in February, but will be buying a new saddle here soon, and im wanted to get a chiropractor out but everyone I ask there like it's probably from the dressage lessons from using his back alot or they want to watch me ride, am I doing something wrong. I want to show him this summer, but u feel were never gonna be ready. I just wanna cry sometimes and fell like we're getting no where.
