    My trainer has a John Lyons certified demo horse that you can ride bridle less or with a neck rope . In fact he does better as if you hang on his face he will give you a run for your money, being sensitive faced and western pleasure trained it doesn't take much with him at all.
    A bit doesn't mean you will be safe if a horse wants away a bit won't stop them.

    I also had an Arab mare I would ride with a neck rope bareback and loved it .
