How Many Times a Week Do You Work in the Ring?

I am always very cautious about making my horse's training schedule varied enough so they don't get drilled on or bored with any one workout. Once we're back to riding, I usually aim for 2 days a week jumping, one gymnastics and one coursework; 1 day of groundwork (arena); 1 day off; 1 or 2 days of flatwork, and 1 or 2 days of hacks, either long and slower or short and faster, depending on the time frame, etc.
So it's usually 4-5 days in the arena, 1-2 days outside. Though sometimes I move the jumps out to the fields, or work in the XC field, so that's outside the ring.
I just really don't want to make any of my horses sour on ringwork.

How many times a week do you work your horses in the ring, and what do you do?

Good question, partially answering and partially subbing to see what peeps say :)

In the summer I ALWAYS ride outside. Can't stand being in when it's warm.

In the winter, we ride outside when we can, and it's all dependent on the weather. In the last 2 months I think we've gone outside like 3 times.

That said, in my perfect world when it's nice when I want to be, I'd probably ride outside at least 3 times a week, and do schooling, gymnastics, poles, and groundwork inside. I don't really stick to a hard schedule, just do whatever we feel like that day, but keep it varied.

This year my goal is to mainly work outside of the arena on everything from dressage to hacking to jumping. My horse is pretty terrible with his work ethic outside of the ring, and we need to work on it!

This year, we finally have made progress on our XC course, so I am really hoping to be make some more XC jumps and maybe move some barrels and standards in there, so I'll be able to do more jumping out. That would be really nice.
