Personally myself, I have to take weekly lessons, if not twice a week. Reason being is that I definitely need eyes on the ground - not just anyone, but educated eyes. Reason is because I pick up too many bad habits, and I need that educated person there to correct me and aid me in any way possible to keep me going forward in our progress and education.
I tried the "high level" coach once a month, and it was not working for me. I would go home with all this knowledge and try to apply it - but because I didn't have the eyes on the ground to correct me, I was riding incorrectly beacuse I didn't realize the facts. So when I went back to my lesson the next month, I had to be reaquainted with what I was taught the month previous.
What I suggest is this - this works wonders for me and I love it. Well, I mean it works well for me - - - take your weekly lessons, and ride in clinics as much as you possibly can.
Clinics, clinics, clinics are amazing opportunities to ride under very talented riders. Have someone there video tape your ride, so that you can take it home and studdy it, and you will also have your weekly coach to go over it with you, to continue forward with your education and progress - all the while, throwing in these extra ingredients from your clinitians to make the end result perfect.
